FODC meets once a month at locations throughout the watershed. We hold trash clean-ups about four times a year, and occasionally sponsor events for education and celebration.

LOCATION OF FRIENDS OF DECKERS CREEK'S OFFICE AT 219 WALL ST. IN MORGANTOWN

Wall Street is a brick-paved alley that runs between High and Spruce streets near the Morgantown Public Library. Park at the municipal garage at Spruce and Walnut streets or at the municipal lot a little higher up Spruce Street. Walk across Spruce Street and enter the alley next to the Milan Puskar Health Right. The Friends of Deckers office will be on your right.

DIRECTIONS TO THE ARTHURDALE HERITAGE HOUSE

from Morgantown
Follow Rt. 7 east through Masontown to Reedsville. Continue straight onto Rt. 92 at 4-way stop. Arthurdale is several miles ahead on the right; we meet in the large white building facing the road.
 

DIRECTIONS TO THE FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE

from Morgantown
Cross Walnut St. Bridge, follow Rt 7 past Hogback, almost into Sabraton. Turn left on Mineral (just before Old Rt 7 turnoff to Marilla), right on Denver (first R at end of real steep section). Meeting House is straight ahead.
from Masontown
Come into Sabraton on Rt 7. At the traffic light with Hardee's, turn right. Turn left up Sabraton Ave at the stop sign. Follow Sabraton Avenue. It will cross a bridge over Hartman Run Road, and will become Richwood Ave. Take the second left after the bridge (just before the Dairy Mart). The Meeting House is two blocks down Putnam, on the left. 

DIRECTIONS TO PIONEER ROCKS (for some Adopt-a-Highway clean-ups)

from Morgantown
Leave downtown Morgantown via the Walnut St. bridge.  Follow this road out through Sabraton.  Drive 2.5 miles past interstate 68.  You will cross Deckers Creek twice on this stretch.  Shortly after the second Deckers Creek bridge, you will reach the intersection with Tyrone Rd.  Park in the pulloff on the right just after the intersection, across from the Pioneer rocks Tavern.

Drive downhill (east) on Rt. 7. from Masontown.  Pioneer Rocks is 7.1 miles from Masontown.  FIND A PLACE TO TURN AROUND CAREFULLY, and park in the pull-off across from the Pioneer Rocks Tavern.

DIRECTIONS TO "ADAM'S ROCK" (for some Adopt-a-Highway clean-ups)

Drive one mile past Pioneer Rocks. Stop at the pull-off on the right.

DIRECTIONS TO THE MELLONS CHAPEL RAIL-TRAIL PARKING LOT (for Adopt-a-Trail clean-ups)

Drive 1.9 miles past Interstate 68.  Take a right just past the American Legion post (SLOW DOWN--It's a sharp turn).  Drive up the steep hill 0.3 miles to a fork in the road.  Take the left fork (Break Iron Rd), and continue uphill.  You will pass Mellons chapel on the left.  Turn into the parking lot on the right.

Coming from Masontown on Rt 7, you will cross Deckers Creek after driving 7.2 miles.  Drive approximately half a mile farther.  Turn left just before the American Legion Post (on the left).  Drive uphill 0.3 miles, take the left fork, drive just past Mellons Chapel, and park in the rail-trail parking lot on the right.

DIRECTIONS TO THE KANES CREEK METHODIST CHURCH

from Morgantown, Masontown
Take Route 7 out of Sabraton going east. Continue past the interstate, over the two bridges over Deckers Creek, up the gorge to Masontown, past Masontown and Bretz, all the way to the four-way stop in Reedsville. Turn left at the stop sign and continue, still on Route 7, 2.7 miles. Take the right-hand turn at the bottom of the hill, just before "Kanes Creek House" bar and grill. Follow this road about .1 mile and the church will be on the right.

Take Route 92 to Reedsville. Turn right at the stop sign onto  Route 7 toward Kingwood; take it 2.7 miles. Take the right-hand turn at the bottom of the hill, just before "Kanes Creek House" bar and grill. Follow this road about .1 mile and the church will be on the right. 

DIRECTIONS TO THE MASONTOWN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

from Morgantown
Take Route 7 to Masontown. Pass through the town center. At the end of the rise, the church will be on your right. Turn right just before the church into the parking lot. Park in the lot, and we will be in the building behind the church.

DIRECTIONS TO THE ROCK FORGE NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE

from Morgantown
Follow Route 7
under the I-68 interchange and continue three-tenths of a mile across one bridge, then take the first left; the Neighborhood House is the church on the left-hand side.

from Masontown
The Neighborhood House is on the right 1.9 miles past the Route 7 Bridge over Deckers Creek in Dellslow.
 

DIRECTIONS TO THE IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE CABIN

From Sabraton

Turn onto Greenbag Road. Take this road to Lower Aaron's Creek Road. Landmarks at this intersection include Morgantown Printing and Binding (on right side of the road) and Eddie's Tire (left side of the road, beyond the road onto which you are turning). Turn left on that road.

Continue to the end of that road (1.9 miles). Take a left, and then an immediate right on a dirt road with a large sign advertising Jack's Auto Body shop. Pass a metal gate at 0.3 miles, and drive to the end of that road. The Izaak Walton League Cabin is right there.
