This year’s FODC Holiday Social at the Arts Mon was well attended by FODC supporters, donors, and volunteers. Friends and family discussed the future of Deckers Creek and enjoyed presentations recapping the 2010 year in the Deckers Creek watershed. FODC staff presented information reflecting 2010’s fundraisers and events and acid mine drainage remediation efforts including the progress made in remediating the Richard Mine. Also present were members of the FODC Youth Advisory Board. YAB gave a presentation to inform supporters of 2010’s accomplishments, current projects, and next year’s plans. Some of those future plans include implementing public school recycling programs and attending team development training at The Mountain Institute.

FODC also recognized its 2010 Major Donors: 1) BlissBlissBliss, 2) Ann Payne, 3) Chesapeake Energy, 4) Vicki Shears and Dan Doyle, and 6) Deb Fulton and the 2010 Volunteers of the Year: 1) LaRue Weber, 2) Evan Lintz, 3) Erika Osbourne, and 4) Carol Nix. Generous and supportive businesses, families, and active community members, were all celebrated and recognized with framed photographs depicting the scenic Deckers Creek Gorge. Board President Patty Diefenbach gave special recognition to the FODC Board for their hard work, commitment, and dedication to FODC’s mission. With over 50 supporters in attendance, FODC Staff, Board, and YAB were all fortunate to celebrate the end of another successful year in great company.

The Holiday Social is FODC's "Thank You" to supporters, donors, and volunteers. These wonderful individuals, families, and businesses are truly appreciated by all. The FODC Staff and Board feel it is extremely important to recognize their input and value to FODC. This recognition conveys an appreciation to supporters and volunteers so that they continue to play that important role in FODC's mission.
